Victory Was Easy As Pi

Michael Arguelles, a graduating senior at Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village, won the Pi Memorization Contest at the school for the third consecutive year. As noted, Arguelles memorized 1,000 digits of pi (3.14159…) and accurately recited them beore the judges of the contest. Arguelles, who will attend Hunter College this fall on a scholarship majoring in mathematics, was also a member of the Christ the King Math Team, which recently placed first in the New York State Mathematics League.
