A person struck by a train late Tuesday afternoon in Astoria suffered multiple traumas, according to the FDNY.
An FDNY spokeswoman said the department received a call around 4:15 p.m. about a victim who was reportedly on the elevated tracks at Broadway and 31st Street. Firefighters arrived on scene at 4:23 p.m. Fire Department and EMS vehicles surrounded the scene, the FDNY said.
A witness at the scene told TimesLedger Newspapers that a leg and body parts were spotted on the roadway and that the victim could be a woman. It is unclear as to whether the person was pushed or fell.
