Councilmember Julissa Ferreras welcomes first child

As some of the city’s politicians were rejoicing in their election wins, one councilmember was celebrating the birth of her first child.

Councilmember Julissa Ferreras and her boyfriend Aaron Copeland welcomed their baby boy on Wednesday, September 11. Julian Aaron Copeland came into the world at 11:55 a.m. weighing seven pounds and one ounce, measuring 20 inches long and with a full head of black hair.

“We are so blessed by the arrival of Julian – who we named after my father,” said Ferreras, who couldn’t be more in love with her baby boy. “We are all doing well and enjoying these early days together. We wanted to thank our neighbors and friends for all the kind wishes we’ve received.”
