QUEENS VILLAGE — A 49-year-old Pomonok resident was killed when the Toyota Corolla he was driving hit a guardrail, flipping over and ejecting him from the car late Friday, police said.
The driver, identified by police as John Sanchez, had been traveling on the northbound Cross Island Parkway near Hempstead Turnpike at the time of the accident, the NYPD said.
Emergency responders were called to the roadway at about 10:15 p.m. and pronounced Sanchez, who had severe trauma to his head and body, dead at the scene, according to cops.
Police said an investigation was ongoing.
