LONG ISLAND CITY – Authorities were searching for a suspect who allegedly tried to deposit a fraudulent check at a Long Island City ATM and then take out money, police said.
The suspect was captured on video using a debit card to deposit the $942.83 check into the account of a 31-year old woman July 23 at the Chase Bank, at 25-15 Queens Plaza North, according to cops.
He then allegedly tried to withdraw cash, but was unable to get any money, the NYPD said.
Police described the suspect as a black man between the ages of 20 and 30, and authorities said he was wearing a white T-shirt and a black baseball hat.
