Cabbie Lost Control In Deadly R. H. Car Crash

Skidded Into Parked Vehicles At Corner

A 56-year-old cabbie and Kew Gardens resident died Friday, Jan. 3, after striking a parked car in his taxi, police announced.

Ved Wadhwa was travelling south on 118th Street at about 3:40 p.m. Friday when he veered into a parked car near the intersection of 118th Street and 95th Avenue in South Richmond Hill, according to law enforcement officials.

The vehicle reportedly deflected off the parked car and struck another parked vehicle on the opposite side of the street before coming to rest, it was noted.

Wadhwa was alone in the taxi, and after the accident, EMS removed the man to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police reports said.

As of press time Wednesday, the investigation is ongoing, police sources said.
