JOSEPHINE FITZ of Glendale died on Wednesday, January 15, at the age of 82. She was the devoted mother of Marie
Ellen Mehltretter, Erika Carabello, Doreen Fitz and Carol Marx and dear sister of Lillian Hirris. She is also survived
by four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Sacred Heart Church, Glendale, followed by interment
at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

CATHERINE ANN GENTILE died on Friday, January 17, at the age of 62. She was the beloved mother of William
J. Hau and cherished grandmother of Billy. She was also a dear cousin and friend to many. Services were held on
Wednesday, January 22, at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by cremation at Fresh
Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

ANGELO N. GRASSO died on Friday, January 17, at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of Mary Grasso,
loving father of Dr. Cono M. Grasso and Rosemary Kruh, cherished grandfather of Angelo, Nicole, Jonathan and
Matthew and great-grandfather of Devan and Zoe. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. A
Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, January 21, at St. Adalbert’s Church, Elmhurst, followed by interment
at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

ROBERT MARIETTA, formerly of Glendale, died on Saturday, January 18, at the age of 77. A native of Brooklyn,
he was the husband of the late Maureen M. (nee Seims), devoted father of Bonnie and Robert Marietta, cherished
father-in-law of Lynn Marietta, dear brother of Connie Papalia and Alfred Marietta and loving grandfather of
Amanda, Kayla, Robbie and Kate Marietta. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Pancras Church, Glendale,
followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home,
71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

ROBERT STANGA of Ridgewood died on Friday, January 17, at the age of 68. He was the beloved husband of Edna,
devoted father of Christine Rodriguez and Donna and dear father-in-law of Maria. He is also survived by four
grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood,
followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Hess-Miller Funeral Home, 64-19
Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village.

HOWARD M. LANGELOH of Glendale died on Saturday, January 18, at the age of 90. A native of Brooklyn, he
was the husband of the late Dorothy and devoted father of Debbie Reed, Harriet Reynolds, Patricia Reilly, Kathleen
Walsh and James Langeloh. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a
U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood
Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev. Michael Ross, followed by interment at Calverton National
Cemetery, Calverton, L.I.

JAKOB GERBER of Ridgewood died on Friday, January 17, at the age of 91. A native of Chicago, he was the husband
of the late Elizabeth and devoted father of Theresa Trepel. He is also survived by two grandchildren. Services were
offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev. Vetrano, followed
by interment at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood.

CATHERINE E. MONACO died on Saturday, January 11, at the age of 76.
She was the wife of the late Ralph C. Monaco, loving mother of Anthony
Monaco and Jeanne Barbieri, mother-in-law of Patricia and Guy, cherished
grandmother of Joseph and Ralph and dear sister-in-law of Molly Lamonaca,
Patricia LaSpagnoletta, Madelyn Sampogna and the late Antoinette Monaco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered today, Thursday, January 16, at
9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, followed by interment
at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral
Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

ROBERT C. KACER died on Monday, January 13, at the age of 80. He
was the beloved brother of Jerome Kacer and Joan Monahan, brother-in-law
of Nyla and loving uncle of Joanne, Joseph, Jacquelyn, Robert, Michelle,
Jeannie and Diane. He was a cherished great-uncle to many. Kacer was a
U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. Services will be
offered this morning, Thursday, January 16, at 11 a.m. at Papavero Funeral
Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by interment at Linden Hill
Cemetery, Ridgewood.

was the beloved mother of Paul Y. Leung, Christine Wong, May Leung and the
late Loretta. She was also a loving grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother
of four. Services will be offered today, Thursday, January 16, at 12:30 p.m. at
Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by private
cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.
