Manhole Blast on Ridgewood Street

Firefighters rushed to a Ridgewood block on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 5, to put out a manhole fire that spread to a nearby lamppost, it was reported. Members of Engine companies 277 and 319; Ladder companies 112 and 135; Battalion 28 and the 104th Precinct responded to the incident along Forest Avenue near Menahan Street. There were no reported injuries.
