A shooting in southeast Queens Friday afternoon left one person dead and three injured, police said.
The incident happened about 4:10 p.m. near Farmers Boulevard and 134th Avenue, according to the NYPD.
Jamal Green, 42, who was shot in the chest, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Green, a Jamaica resident, was a rapper who also went by the name Mazaradi Fox, according to the New York Daily News. He was a childhood friend of 50 Cent and had been a part of his hip hop group G-Unit, the Daily News reported.
“Saddened by the news of Mazaradi’s tragic passing my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends #smsaudio,” 50 Cent tweeted Friday night.
The Daily News also reported that Green helped raise D’aja “Asia” Robinson, the 14-year-old girl who was shot to death on a Queens bus in May.
One of the three victims injured in the shooting was a 21-year-old man, who was struck in the shoulder and neck, according to authorities. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition.
A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital in stable condition. A 32-year-old woman was transported to Jamaica Hospital with a graze wound to her neck, and is also listed in stable condition.
There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing, the NYPD said.
According to published reports, the suspect fled in a vehicle, possibly a black or dark-colored Hyundai sedan.
