The 108th Precinct Community Council recently honored P.O. Vania Lauren as its Cop of the Month during its meeting last Tuesday, Jan. 28. Lauren caught a gun-toting phone robber wanted for nine stick-ups and busted a warehouse burglary in the same week. Among those pictured are Lauren; P.O. Louis Diaz of the 108th Precinct Community Affairs Unit; Patricia Dorfman, the council’s First Vice President; Sergeant-at-arms Frank Corrado; Secretary Johanna Carmona; Treasurer Don McCallian; and Lt. Jonathan Cermeli. The Cop of the Month plaque is donated by the Times Newsweekly.
