Looking To Staff Local Residents
Queens Borough President Melinda Katz is working in partnership with Adecco Staffing Company to fill about 200 temporary positions available at Cirque du Soleil’s performances of “Amaluna,” a touring production that will appear at Citi Field this spring.
The jobs will run from early March to mid-May and available positions include ushers to check tickets and escort patrons to seats; concession stand workers and box office clerks (requires previous experience in cashiering); prep cooks with culinary experience and their own knives; dishwashers; VIP hosts; and costume and wardrobe assistants.
Anyone who wishes to apply for a position must first fill out a job application online. Online applications can be found by visiting www.adeccousa.com and searching for “Cirque du Soleil” in the “find jobs” search box.
Those who successfully complete online applications will be invited to visit Queens Borough Hall for an interview with Adecco representatives.
“Job creation for Queens residents is one of my top priorities, so I am very pleased to work with Adecco Staffing Company to fill the temporary positions available at this spring’s Cirque du Soleil shows at Citi Field,” Katz said. “I encourage anyone who may be interested in these positions to put their best foot forward and apply. I wish best of luck to all of the applicants.”
Katz is facilitating this hiring process as part of her workforce development initiative, which aims to create jobs throughout the borough.
“I am committed to working with every Queens business, whether large or small, to create targeted local hiring plans that ensure that those businesses are hiring in the Queens communities that need the jobs most,” Katz said.
