Barber charged with fatally stabbing teen over Bluetooth debt: NYPD

By Rich Bockmann

A southeast Queens barber has been charged with murder after an argument in a Laurelton shop Thursday afternoon left a teenager dead, police said.

Cedric Simpson, 34, was arrested on charges of murder and weapons possession after he allegedly stabbed 19-year-old Carl Richardson inside the Select Stylez Barbershop on Merrick Boulevard Thursday, the NYPD said.

Police said Richardson visited the shop Wednesday and sold a Bluetooth headphone set to Simpson, who told the Brookville teen to come back the next day to collect the money.

But when Richardson showed up Thursday afternoon, the two got into an argument that spilled out into the street, police said.

Patrons inside the shop watched as the two came back inside and Simpson allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors, stabbing Richardson in his torso, according to police.

The teenager was taken to Franklin General Hospital in Valley Stream, L.I., where he was pronounced dead, police said.
