LONG ISLAND CITY — Police from the 108th Precinct responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle accident on the eastbound upper roadway of the Queensboro Bridge Wednesday and found a taxi driver unconscious and unresponsive in the driver’s seat.
EMS transported the 50-year-old man to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Astoria, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police say the taxi driver suffered a health condition and struck a wall before hitting a car toward the bottom of the ramp heading toward Jackson Avenue and Northern Boulevard.
The driver of the second car, a 33-year-old man, and his passenger, a 55-year-old woman, were taken to Elmhurst General Hospital where they were listed in stable condition, according to police.
