Photo Gallery Scouts’ Pinewood Derby Day By QNS Editorial Posted on March 13, 2014 Sign up for our QNS email newsletter to get news, updates, and local insights delivered straight to your inbox! The Pinewood Derby is a long standing tradition with the Cub Scouts. For Pack 390 of Woodside, it was the Tiger Den’s first experience in the competition, while the Wolf, Bear and Webelo dens were seasoned pros. All month long, the scouts have been diligently working on their derby cars- cutting, sanding, painting and designing. The boys were just as excited to watch their own car race as they exhilarated by cheering on their fellow pack brothers. The 8th Annual Bill Smallwood Memorial Derby was held at St. Stanislaus school, and was quite memorable for the Scouts of Pack 390 in Woodside. Pictured from left are “Tigers” Patrick M., Andrew M., Cillian C., Joseph O., and in the back row scout leaders Nami, Marvin and Maria.
