Left With Gunshots To Head On Area Street
Officers found a Briarwood man fatally shot on a South Richmond Hill street last Saturday morning, Apr. 19, it was reported.
Police identified the victim as 20- year-old Branden Santiago, 20, who took two bullets to the head in the vicinity of 103rd Avenue and 108th Street at about 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, a passerby reported the shooting to police after seeing the wounded Santiago lying below a moped.
Members of the 106th Precinct and EMS units rushed to the scene. Paramedics brought Santiago to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Various police units canvassed the surrounding area for clues and possible suspects. However, no immediate arrests were made, authorities noted.
An investigation by the 106th Precinct Detective Squad and the NYPD Queens Homicide Squad is ongoing, police said.
