JOAN KESSLER of Glendale died on Saturday, April 5, at the age of 80. She
was the loving wife of Lawrence, beloved mother of Rosemarie and Paul
Santucci and Lorraine and Andy Marchese and devoted grandmother of
Amanda, Christiana and Holly Anne. She was a member of the St. Rose of
Lima Chapter of the Catholic Daughters of America and a Girl Scout and
Sunday School leader at St. Pancras Church, Glendale. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be offered this morning, Thursday, April 12, at St. Pancras Church,
followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, under the direction
of Schwille Funeral Home, 66-32 Myrtle Ave., Glendale.

CHARLES W. WEILAND of Maspeth died on Thursday, April 3, at the age
of 82. He was the beloved husband of Joan (nee Heerlein) and devoted father
of Charles and Lori and Kathryn and Joe Smoljan. He is also survived by four
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were offered at graveside at
Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I., under the direction of Village
Chapels Inc., 67-67 Eliot Ave., Middle Village.

PROVIDENZA SPOSITO died on Saturday, April 5, at the age of 81. She
was the beloved wife of Philip Sposito, loving mother of Joseph Sposito and
dear sister of Concetta Murabito and the late Vincenza Amato. She is also
survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial
was offered on Wednesday, April 9, at St. Adalbert’s Church, Elmhurst,
followed by interment at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

NADIA BORYK died on Monday, March 31, at the age of 86. She was the
wife of the late Stephen Boryk, loving mother of Christine Boryk and the late
Borys Bork and Zenon Boryk, mother-in-law of Catherine, cherished
grandmother of Andrew and Nicole, sister of the late Vera Mizur and cherished
aunt of Roma, Doris, Christine, Alexa and Danielle. Services were offered at
Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by cremation
at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

ELISSA M. DOUGLAS of Brooklyn died on Wednesday, April 2, at the age of 75. A native of New York, she was
the wife of the late Frank and devoted mother of Lisa Douglas and Frank Douglas. Services were offered at Morton
Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev. Michael Ross, followed by cremation
at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

NORA C. BARNES of Glendale died on Tuesday, March 18, at the age of 87. She was the dear sister of Eugene and
Eleanor and beloved aunt of Patricia, Leonard, Kathleen, Janice and Gene. She is also survived by three great nephews
and one great niece. She was cremated under the direction of Hess-Miller Funeral Home, 64-19 Metropolitan Ave.,
Middle Village. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered this Saturday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church,
Glendale, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village.

FRED A. MEDERLE of Glendale died on Thursday, April 3, at the age of 86.
He is survived by many grand nieces and nephews and his dear friend Kathy
Nolan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary, and sisters
Rita Johnsen and Eleanor Hogan. He was a retired NYPD detective. A Mass
of Christian Burial was offered at St. Pancras Church, Glendale, followed by
interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I., under the direction of
Schwille Funeral Home, 66-32 Myrtle Ave., Glendale.
