More than 60 firefighters descended on Fresh Pond Road in Ridgewood Thursday after police officers spotted smoke billowing out of the front window of a private home, the FDNY and NYPD said.
The Fire Department said 12 units and 65 firefighters battled the blaze in the top floor of a three-story house on Fresh Pond Road near 68th Avenue for more than a half an hour.
No one was injured, according to the FDNY and NYPD.
The Police Department said officers out on patrol alerted the FDNY when they smelled the fire and noticed smoke pouring out of a window on the top floor of the house.
Firefighters were called at 11:32 a.m. and had the fire under control by 12:06 p.m., according to the FDNY.
