Thomas Farrell, a member of the Maspeth High School Green Club, was among 15 winners of the city Department of Education’s Energy Conservation Calendar contest. As noted, Farrell’s artwork was chosen to be included in a calendar encouraging all to be environmentally conscious and save energy. His artwork will be included in the sustainability calendar printed for all schools in the DOE. During a ceremony at the Tweed Courthouse in Manhattan, Farrell received a certificate from Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña as well as an iPad.
