JAMAICA — A Pennsylvania man was arrested at Kennedy Airport last week when an x-ray machine picked up a loaded handgun and a pair of metal knuckles allegedly concealed in his vest, the Queens district attorney said.
Port Authority police arrested Richard Forti, 55, on weapons possession charges when he was allegedly caught with a loaded .32-caliber pistol and metal knuckles at JFK Airport April 16, District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Brown said Forti placed his vest into the x-ray machine during a routine pre-flight security check and the alarm went off when it allegedly discovered the semi-automatic pistol with five rounds in the magazine and the knuckles.
The Lebanon County resident faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted on the charges, Brown said.
