Burglar steals $2,600 from 99-cent store: Cops [With Video]

LAURELTON — A burglary suspect cut a hole in the roof of a 99-cent store on Merrick Boulevard over the weekend and made off with $2,600, police said.

The suspect, described as a black man between 25 and 30 years old with a light complexion, allegedly cut a hole in the roof of the 99 Cent Dream Store near 229th Street around 4:45 a.m. Saturday, police said.

No one was in the store at the time, and the burglar fled with approximately $2,600, according to cops.

Police said he was wearing a light-colored sweatshirt, camouflage pants and light sneakers and was carrying a book bag.
