City Council Member Julissa Ferreras was joined by Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, State Sen. Jose Peralta, and Assemblymen Francisco Moya and Jeffrion Aubry at the intersection of 108th Street and 51st Avenue in Corona for a street renaming ceremony on Friday, Apr. 25. The street was renamed in memory of the late Anthony Caminiti, a World War II veteran, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 150 and a life-long advocate for Corona. Caminiti died on Feb. 18, 2012, just days after celebrating his 100th birthday. Friends and relatives of Caminiti are shown with Ferreras, Katz, Peralta, Moya and Aubry at last Friday’s ceremony.
