For his efforts to stop a pair of assault suspects, P.O. Gerard J. Laclair of the 108th Precinct received the Cop of the Month award during the 108th Precinct Community Council meeting last Tuesday night, May 27, at Sunnyside Community Services. Reportedly, Laclair was on dutiy in the area of 43rd Street in Sunnyside on May 21 when he observed two men punch a victim, then run away. Following a brief foot pursuit, Laclair apprehended the two suspects. At last Tuesday’s meeting, Capt. Richard Hellman, the 108th Precinct’s executive officer, presented the officer with a plaque donated by the Times Newsweekly on behalf of the absent Capt. Brian Hennessy, commanding officer, and Diane Ballek, precinct council president. Shown at the award presentation are (from left to right) Precinct Council Sergeant-at-arms Frank Corrado; Lt.
