NYPD IDs man fatally struck in S. Ozone Park

SOUTH OZONE PARK — A 58-year-old man who died after being hit by a car while crossing a street in South Ozone Park Saturday has been identified as Manhattan resident Robert Moczo, the NYPD said.

Police said Moczo was crossing North Conduit Avenue near 130th Street just before 10 a.m. when he turned around after reaching the midway point of the street and attempted to return to the curb.

He was then hit by a gray 2005 Toyota Avalon traveling west down North Conduit Avenue, authorities said.

Moczo was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he died later that afternoon from his injuries, police said. The NYPD said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and no charges have been filed yet, but an investigation was still ongoing.
