Two people suffered smoke inhalation after a twoalarm fire broke out inside an Elmhurst apartment building on Monday night, June 9, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the inferno ignited at about 9:12 p.m. on the first- and second-floors of a building on Judge Street between Elmhurst and Whitney avenues. More than 20 Fire Department units responded to the incident along with the 110th Precinct and EMS units. Paramedics rushed the victims to Elmhurst Hospital Center for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening. Four hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
