Police charge Woodside man with attempted rape

WOODSIDE – Police said they arrested a Woodside man and charged him with attempting to rape a 61-year-old woman last week, the NYPD said.

Frangklin Lliguichuzhca, 21, was charged with attempted rape, sexual abuse and assault in the June 11 attack, police said.

Authorities said the victim had been walking near 71st Street and 41st Avenue around 10:45 p.m. when she was approached.

Lliguichuzhca allegedly struck her in the face with a closed fist, pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her, according to the NYPD.

The woman was able to break free and escape by running north bound on 71st Street, and she sustained minor injuries during the incident, police said.
