The NYPD has identified a man who allegedly fired shots at cops in Elmhurst on Saturday.
A sergeant and police officer, both in uniform and in a marked police car, were responding to a trespassing call around 1:50 a.m. when they saw a man chasing another man and firing shots at him at Lamont Avenue and Forley Street, officials said.
The cops jumped from their car and ordered the man to drop the gun, but instead he turned on them, raised the weapon and shot at them, police said.
The officers returned fire, but no one was hit in the exchange. When the suspect fled, he left behind a .22 caliber pistol, according to cops.
Police have named Cristian Mosquera, 20, as a suspect in the June 21 incident, and describe him as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 120 pounds. He also has three star tattoos on his right shoulder.
There is a $12,000 combined reward leading to an arrest and conviction, according to the NYPD.
