Woodhaven Gala Fetes Local Contributors

Woodhaven merchants and community leaders celebrated spring in style during the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation’s (GWDC) annual dinner/dance last Friday night, June 6, at Woodhaven Manor. During the gala, the organization presented awards to individuals recognizing their many achievements in the community. Pictured at the award presentation are (from left to right); Stephen Esposito, GWDC president; Dr. Dennis Pazos, GWDC board member; Evelyn Cruz, chief of staff to Rep. Nydia Velázquez; Capt. Danielle Raia of the 102nd Precinct, who accepted an award on behalf of Deputy Inspector Henry Sautner, commanding officer; State Sen. Joseph Addabbo; Matthew Xenakis, Woodhaven Business Improvement District president; Assemblyman Mike Miller; Maria Thomson, GWDC executive director; and George Smith of Lifetime Vending Amusements.
