Woodside Rape Suspect Nabbed

Say Elmhurst Man Roughed Up Woman

An Elmhurst man was arraigned last Thursday, June 19, for allegedly assaulting and attempting to rape a woman on a Woodside block earlier this month, prosecutors announced.

Frangklin Lliguichuzhca, 21, of 76th Street was cuffed last Wednesday, June 18, by members of the NYPD Queens Special Victims Squad for the June 11 incident.

According to police, Lliguichuzhca allegedly approached a 61-year-old woman in the vicinity of 71st Street and 41st Avenue in Woodside at about 10:45 p.m. on June 11 and punched her in the face.

Following the initial assault, Lliguichuzhca reportedly pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her. Law enforcement sources said the woman managed to fight off the suspect, causing him to flee on foot northbound on 71st Street.

The incident was reported to the 108th Precinct; the victim suffered minor injuries.

Based on information obtained during its investigation, the NYPD Queens Special Victims Squad tracked down Lliguichuzhca last Wednesday. He was booked by P.O. Rocco Biondo on charges of firstdegree sexual abuse and second-degree assault.

During last Thursday’s arraignment hearing, according to court records, Judge David Hawkins ordered Lliguichuzhca held on $10,000 bail and to return to court on June 30.
