In an attempt to widen Asian-American merchants’ access to small business services, LaGuardia Community College has started providing an adviser at the Flushing branch of the Queens Library one day a week.
The adviser will be available in the basement of the library from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. every Thursday to give one-on-one advice and training.
“Providing small business services at the library is excellent news for small businesses in the area,” said U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Flushing), who has been pushing to get an additional Small Business Development Center in Queens.
“While this is not a full-fledged SBDC, it is a great first step to securing one in the future, and it will serve as an outstanding asset to local small business owners. I thank LaGuardia Community College for providing this valuable service, and for understanding the important needs of area entrepreneurs. I urge all small business owners to take advantage of this valuable resource to help grow their business and discover new opportunities.”
