Fire Engulfs Flower Shop In Rego Park

Flames ripped through a Rego Park flower shop during a one-alarm blaze on Sunday night, June 29, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the inferno ignited at about 11:30 p.m. inside the Florist Hills and Garden Center located at 68-19 Woodhaven Blvd. near 68th Road. Responding to the scene (listed in the order of arrival) were Engine companies 319, 305, 294, 287 and 293; Ladder companies 151, 143, 135 and 142; Squad Co. 270; Rescue 4; and Battalions 46 and 51-under the direction of Division 14. Officers from the 112th Precinct and EMS units also responded. There were no reported injuries. Three hose lines were used to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
