Firefighters closed off a portion of Jamaica Avenue in Richmond Hill last Saturday morning, July 13, while battling a one-alarm fire inside a nearby business, FDNY sources said. Reportedly, the blaze broke out at about 11:34 a.m. inside Naciones Unidas Cafe Grill located on Jamaica Avenue near 112th Street. More than 10 Fire Department units rushed to the scene along with the 102nd Precinct and EMS units. Paramedics removed one firefighter to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained while battling the blaze; no other injuries were reported.
