Two die in accident on LIE

By Alex Robinson

A 30-year-old driver and his 31-year-old passenger died early Saturday morning in a car crash on the Long Island Expressway, police said.

The two men were hurtling westbound on the highway in a 2004 Subaru Impreza when the driver lost control trying to exit onto the Grand Central Parkway, according to cops.

The car hit a guardrail and a metal overpass before turning onto its side and coming to a halt, police said.

Responding officers found the two men unconscious and unresponsive with serious body trauma. They were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
