Over 600 job seekers headed to the new YMCA in Arverne by the Sea, to participate in State Sen. Joseph Addabbo Jr.’s job fair. About 70 vendors came and spoke to hopeful applicants, and many collected piles of applications and resumes. “While I’m thrilled with the turnout and happy we can provide this service to the community, I think this fair also speaks to the state of our economy,” Addabbo said. “So many people are without jobs, looking constantly and struggling to find new opportunities. I’m happy to bring some options to them, and will continue to host Job Fairs to help those who are unemployed.” The New York City Board of Elections, Delta Airlines, Duane Reade, Dish Network and Rite Aid were just some of the vendors who drew crowds around their table.
