ST. ALBANS — Police charged four men with drugs and weapons possession after they pulled over the car they were traveling in near the intersection of Linden and Farmers Boulevards in St. Albans.
Police stopped the car for speeding, missing the front license plate and having a defective taillight.
“As we were walking up (to the car), they rolled down the windows and you could smell the marijuana coming form the car,” said Jospeh Algerio, form the 113th precinct.
Police said they spotted a marijuana cigarette in the front ashtray and another one on a floor mat.
Police then asked the suspects to get out of the car and allegedly found two firearms, a Taurus handgun and a Beretta. Police said the guns were reported stolen out of state.
Police said they made the arrests without incident, and confiscated the guns, the marijuana and the car.
They were charged with possession of loaded firearms, possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana.
