Songs of good cheer performed at various holiday concerts around the Times Newsweekly coverage area last weekend helped audience members get in a festive mood. In the top photo, the Grace Notes-under the direction of Kathy Burger-performed the cantata “We’re Glad You Came,” a mix of traditional and modern Christmas songs, at Ridgewood’s Trinity Reformed Church on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 14. As shown in the middle photo, musicians and singers at Grover Cleveland High School delighted an audience with their version of holiday hits during the Ridgewood institution’s winter concert last Friday, Dec. 12. Finally, in the bottom photo, the choirs of Middle Village’s St. Margaret Church came together Sunday afternoon for a traditional “Lessons and Carols” service featuring Scripture readings and hymns as part of the Advent season. Directed by Don and Diane Compotello, the choir members are pictured on the altar with Msgr. Steven Aguggia, the church’s pastor, who also participated.
