The Fire Department was investigating the cause of a fierce fire that took the life of a 64-year-old Oakland Gardens woman Saturday.
The blaze broke out about 12:05 p.m. in her ground floor apartment located at the intersection of 64th Street and Springfield Gardens, an FDNY spokesman said. A total of 60 firefighters responded to the emergency call in the two-story brick house. The FDNY spokesman said the fire was declared under control 25 minutes after receiving the call.
