CAMBRIA HEIGHTS — A Cambria Heights barber was sentenced to 19 years in prison for stabbing a customer to death who sold him Bluetooth headphones, District Attorney Richard Brown announced Tuesday.
The barber, Cedric N. Simpson, 35, was convicted of manslaughter last month.
“The defendant has been held accountable for having taken the life of a young man over the cost of a pair of headphones,” Brown said in a statement.
Simpson slashed Carl Richardson, 19, in the neck, upper back and chest with a pair of scissors from his workstation at Select Stylez Barbershop on Merrick Boulevard, Brown said.
