The Queens College Knights women’s basketball team earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming East Coast Conference (ECC) Championship. The Knights finished their last three games with a 2-1 record to earn the second seed in the tournament.

The team finished the regular season with a 20-7 record, going 15-5 within the conference.

The Knights will play in the semi-final round on Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at LIU Post in Brookville against the winner of the Roberts Wesleyan/St. Thomas Aquinas game.

For the second season in a row, the Knights were able to reach 20 victories and earned a No. 5 ranking, highlighted by wins over nationally ranked opponents District of Columbia, Roberts Wesleyan and Franklin Pierce.

The Knights were led by sophomore sensation Madison Rowland, the reigning ECC Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Rowland has scored 1,000 career points in less than two years for the Knights and has won ECC Player of the Week honors five times during this year’s campaign. She is also ranked 10th in the nation in scoring.
