Commuters crowded into Penn Station for the Thursday evening rush hour after a person attempting to move between two Long Island Rail Road cars fell, forcing the suspension of all rail service into the transit hub.
At about 3:51, the person was stuck between the LIRR train and the platform and a request was made to turn off the power, according to the Breaking News Network. The injured person was not pinned.
The power was turned off when the person was rescued and then taken to Bellevue Hospital, according to BNN. Service was suspended in both directions between Penn Station and Jamaica.
Limited eastbound service resumed later in the day as throngs of people filled Penn Station amid widespread delays.
