The Hunters Point Parks Conservancy (HPPC) will host its second LIC HENGE event on Sunday, July 12, where visitors to the Long Island City waterfront will be able to catch the sun setting as it aligns itself down 42nd Street in Manhattan.
HPPC held its first LIC HENGE event in May and after a large positive response from residents and visitors, the group decided to hold a second event to bring together the community during a night of food, music and a photo contest.
The event will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. at the LIC Landing, located at 52-10 Center Blvd. New and current members of HPPC will receive one free drink courtesy of LIC Landing, which will also be selling food and drinks.
As part of the event, HPPC will also hold a photo contest for the best “Henge Sunset” photo. To enter, participants should use the tag #LICHenge and a winner will receive a $50 gift certificate from LIC Landing.
Membership for HPPC is available for $20. For more information visit www.hunterspointparks.org.
