Cole Bros. Circus pitches its tent at Belmont Park

The Cole Bros Circus will be making things funny in Belmont Park when it performs Friday through Sunday. Show times on Friday are at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., whereas Saturday and Sunday have extra opportunities with three shows each day at 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The circus boasts 13 tigers, five Asian elephants, high wire, aerial ballet, clever canines, clowns, the human cannonball, two girls hanging by their own hair and other attractions to keep the audience enthralled.

The Cole circus has been operating for more than a centurysince 1884. Though the circus nearly went out of business during the Great Depression, two workers salvaged the ring. Jesse Adkins and Zack Terrell brought the circus back to life. Today people all over the East Coast can enjoy wholesome family entertainment.
