Three months after human remains were discovered in a black duffel bag along the Far Rockaway shoreline, police have identified the victim and are investigating the death as a homicide.
The remains, now identified as 26-year-old Westerley Osson, whose address is unknown, were found inside the duffel bag the morning of March 30 near 14-52 Gipson St., according to authorities.
On Wednesday, the medical examiner determined the cause of death to be from homicidal asphyxia, according to a spokeswoman from the office.
