Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Glendale

A 61-year-old man has died from his injuries after being struck by a vehicle Friday at around 12:22 a.m., according to police.

The pedestrian was struck at the corner of 69th Road and 78th Street. According to a preliminary investigation by police, the victim was crossing 78th Street when he was hit by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on 69th Road, before making a left turn onto 78th Street.

EMS along with officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident and took the victim to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver remained on scene and there were no arrests or summonses at this time, police said.
