Teen wanted for two separate robberies in Astoria

Police are looking for a teen they say robbed two 14-year-old boys in separate occasions in Astoria last month.

The first incident happened on Aug. 25 at about 6 p.m. when the suspect – described as a black teen between 14 to 16 years of age – approached the victim near 8th Street and Astoria Boulevard and demanded his iPod while threatening to physically harm him, according to authorities. The suspect then took the iPod and fled the scene.

Two days later on Aug. 27 at about 4:40 p.m., the same suspect went up to another 14-year-old boy in front of 34-25 Vernon Blvd. and demanded his cellphone while saying that he had a weapon; however a weapon was never displayed, police said. The suspect took the victim’s iPhone and fled the scene.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and the NYPD has released videos surveillance footage of the teen.
