Pumpkin time at the LIC Flea

Bundle up and head to the LIC Flea & Food this weekend to try your hand at carving a pumpkin and also get a chance to be on television.

The popular Long Island City market, located at Fifth Street and 46th Avenue, will be hosting a pumpkin carving competition on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors who make a purchase from any vendor can enter to win the competition. Pumpkins will be supplied by the LIC Flea’s Pumpkin Patch from J&L Farms.

On Saturday, HGTV will return to the market for a final time this season to film an episode of “Flea Market Flip.” Guests will have the chance to meet host Lara Spencer, buy a one-of-a-kind piece for their home or office, and be in front of the camera.

Visitors still have a chance to come out and sip a brew from the All Queens Beer Garden which serves selections from Big Alice brewing, Finback Brewery, SingleCut Beer Smiths, Rockaway Beer Company, Queens Brewery, Bridge and Tunnel Brewery, and LIC Beer Project.

The LIC Flea & Food is opened every Saturday and Sunday through the end of October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
