Queens Football roundup: Beach Channel wins second straight

Beach Channel has a different kind of streak to call its own.

The Dolphins have won two straight after seeing its 22-game losing streak snapped two weeks ago. Beach Channel used a big day on the ground from Lawrence Binger to beat host Petrides 27-8 in PSAL Bowl Conference football last Saturday.

Binger carried the ball 22 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns for Beach Channel (2-2). Quarterback Joshua Timmer went 10-for-13 passing for 97 yards and a touchdown to Brandon Wood. Cashane White made 12 tackles and Christopher Gallagher collected two of the Dolphins four interceptions.

Tottenville 42, Campus Magnet 24: Que Ruan Mosby completed about 14 of 24 for 201 yards and two touchdown passes to Bryan Mariner for Campus Magnet (1-3). Mosby also ran for a score and Mariner made eight catches for 148 yards. Antawan Lewis carried the ball 15 times for 120 yards and a score. Jermaine Cammock Jr. and Raheem Richards each made eight tackles.

Christ the King 31, Holy Trinity 3: Ahmad Fernandez carried the ball 13 times for 111 yard and a touchdown for Christ the King (3-0). David Navas went 3 of 6 passing for 58 yards and a touchdown to Tosin Oyekanmi. Siddiq Muhammad added a rushing score and Brent Priester made nine tackles.

St. Francis Prep 39, Kennedy Catholic 6: Dylan Zaporta ran for 122 yards on 13 carries for St. Francis Prep (1-2). A.J. Hoy had 104 yards on four carries, including touchdown runs of 55 and 17 yards

Benjamin Cardozo 34, Eagle Academy III 8: Manuel Ritoe went 9 for 13 passing for 206 yards and tossed touchdown passes to Edgar Rodriguez Reyes and Tyriq Graham for Cardozo (4-0). Dsean Edwards carried the ball three times for 100 yards and a score and Justin Singh ran for 83 yards. Andrew McAdam added three sacks. Eagle III is 0-3.

Springfield Gardens 23, Lafayette 0: Christopher Clarke carried the ball 13 times for 235 yards and three touchdowns for Springfield Gardens (2-2). Steve Cadesti and Tahzjai made six tackles each.

Far Rockaway 20, Stuyvesant 16: Aaron Paul rushed for 135 yards and a score on 12 carries for Far Rockaway (3-1). Jaquan Miller posted 145 yards of total offense. He ran for a score and also threw a touchdown pass. Jahron Gayle made 10 tackles, including a sack.

William C. Bryant 38, Adlai Stevenson 12: Raheem Williams carried the ball 20 times for 113 yards and four touchdowns to lead Bryant (1-3). Pasang Dondup added 103 rushing yards on five carries and James Goodman III scored on the ground.
