Slain officer’s funeral to be held at Allen A.M.E. Cathedral

Information on the wake and funeral service for slain police officer Randolph Holder are as follows:

The wake will be held at Greater Allen A. M. E. Cathedral of New York, 110-31 Merrick Boulevard in Jamaica on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

According to police, there will be no parking on Merrick Boulevard from 110th Avenue to Sayres Avenue and no parking on 111th Avenue from Merrick

Boulevard to 172nd Street Tuesday from 6 a.m. to midnight. Traffic will be allowed to drive through these areas. Signs will be and posted.

The funeral service for Holder will be held at Greater Allen A. M. E. Cathedral Wednesday at 3 p.m.

According to police, there will be complete street closures, no traffic and no parking allowed on Merrick from Liberty Avenue to Baisley Boulevard from Wednesday noon until 8 p.m. There will be no parking in these areas from Tuesday at 4 p.m. through Wednesday ay 8 p.m. Additionally there will be complete street closures and no parking allowed on 110th and 111th avenues from Merrick to Guy R. Brewer Boulevard. There will be no parking allowed on Merrick from Baisley to Springfield Boulevard during these times, but traffic will be allowed to drive through.

There will be NYPD traffic agents assisting with traffic flow.

Police are advising drivers, pedestrians and business owners to take precautions with the expected traffic congestion and street closures.

According to police, tow trucks will tow, relocate, and summons vehicles in violation of these restrictions. Signs will be posted in advance.
