Driver survives car crash into tree in South Ozone Park

A man is lucky to be alive after his car crashed into a tree in South Ozone Park early Sunday morning, police said.

The unidentified 25-year-old driver was traveling along North Conduit Avenue near 120th Street at approximately 4:40 a.m. when he crashed, leaving his vehicle destroyed with the roof and both doors missing, the 106th Precinct said on Twitter.

According to police, EMS units removed the driver to Jamaica Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition after surgery.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
