Several elected officials will team up later this month to host a special resource fair for Queens veterans, where they can receive help accessing important benefits and services.

The Veterans Resource Fair will take place on Thursday, Nov. 12, one day after Veterans Day, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria at P.S./I.S. 49 in Middle Village.

The event is designed to help Queens veterans access benefits and services that are available to them through government agencies at the federal, state and city levels. Although veterans are entitled to many benefits and services, a lot of them do not know how to access these resources, and even worse, many are unaware that these services even exist.

The fair will include presentations by representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Small Business Administration, New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and several other state and city agencies, groups and advocates.

The Veterans Resource Fair, which is free of charge and open to all, will be sponsored by Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, Congresswoman Grace Meng, Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley, state Senator Joseph Addabbo and Assembly members Margaret Markey, Mike Miller and Catherine Nolan.
