Saturday, Dec. 19

Meet Santa and his elves at Food Bazaar Supermarket. Drop off any non-perishable food items and have a free photo taken. Food Bazaar LIC will match all donations collected and send off the proceeds to City Harvest. Noon to 5 p.m. 42-02 Northern Blvd., LIC.

Help bring peace and justice to the galaxy by making your own lightsaber at the New York Hall of Science. Learn how to tape cast and create simple circuits while forging your Jedi weapon. Ever wonder why squirrels act so “nutty” in the fall? Bring your child to Alley Pond Environmental Center to learn how squirrels prepare for the winter.
